Northern Escape Heli-Skiing is “The way Heli-Skiing and Boarding were meant to be!”

Additional Information:
Description: Terrain:
A small, intimate operation that pride themselves on cohesive groups, deep snow and skiing every day with their new catski backup. More skiing, with more snow. Their terrain is the fourth largest in the world, and sets the scene for the most remarkable 4-7 days you will experience for the year, unless you come back more than once per season! Their number one priority is safety and is paramount in everything that they do. We have a great variety of terrain over 6000 square kilometres, including deep and steep tree skiing and incredible alpine and glacier skiing. Runs range from 2,500 to 6,000 vertical feet over more than 250 named runs with new runs to be discovered all the time…
Helicopters: Group/Lift Size:
The only company using the Koala Helicopter (more power, speed, space and skiing!) as well as snowcats for storming snow days. 3 groups of 6 per Heli, with speed to stay well ahead of the groups. Also, fuelling is needed less often! 3 groups of 6 in the Classic Packages, 2 groups of 4-5 in the semi-private packages, and 1 group of 4-5 in the Private. Groups of 12 skiers/boarders receive one free seat when making a reservation for the same week.
Location: Closest Major Airport:
Northern BC, near Terrace. After 20 years in the Heli-Skiing/Boarding industry - the ultimate area. Nowhere else on earth does the combination of terrain, abundance of champagne powder, ease of access, and exceptional waterfront lodging come together - Surrounded by Northern BC’s Skeena Mountains Vancouver International Airport (YVR) provides direct access to Terrace Regional Airport (YXT)
Standard Packages Offered: Packages Include:
Classic Packages for 4, 5 or 7 days at Yellow Cedar Lodge. Semi-Private groups can accommodate 8-10 people and the exclusive Private packages suit 4-5 skiers/boarders. Transfers between Terrace Airport and the lodges, a fine dining experience each evening from the team of red seal chefs, all non-alcoholic beverages, accommodations (double occupancy), all lodge amenities, guide services, an avalanche transceiver, Snowpulse Airbag backpacks, powder skis and poles. 7 day packages include 100,000 vertical feet, 4 day packages include 57,500 vertical feet and 3 day packages include 43,000 vertical feet.

Average Snowfall: Maximum number of guests:
HUGE! Last season saw a record breaking snowfall of 210 cm’s in 24 hours. It really is “Deeper Up Here!” Only 18 guests at a time at Yellow Cedar Lodge to keep in sync with the boutique atmosphere and continue to know guests personally. 4-5 guests in Privates and 8-10 in Semi-Privates.
Minimum age requirement: Powder skis required:
No age requirement, but minors must be accompanied by their legal guardian. A great fleet of Volkl, Fischer and Atomic Powder Skis. All skis and poles are included, but guests are welcome to bring their own if they prefer. Snowboards are not available; riders are asked to bring their own equipment.
Level of skiing/snowboarding required for first timers: Hotels recommended for pre & post accommodation:
Advanced Intermediate The Fairmont Waterfront Vancouver and the Fairmont Vancouver Airport.
How guests arrive: The best time to arrive:
Remote, yet easily accessible. Several flights daily from Vancouver service the Terrace airport. The lodges are 20 to 40 min drive from the airport. Guests ski a full day on the last day as the return flight is in the evening. Recommend that guests take the 17:30 flight out of Vancouver to reach Terrace at 19:30, although NE is happy to accommodate guests according to their travel itinerary.
Year-round services: Why Us:
Classic, Yellow Cedar Lodge Private and Exclusive Private packages available. It’s Deeper Up Here! One of the largest heli-ski tenures in the world, with the deepest and most reliable snowfall in the province, in a remote, yet easily accessible, northern location. You’re guaranteed to ski/board every day with snowcat backup. Offering the highest possible level of ski experience with a constant focus on safety. Easy access, and guests ski a full day on the last day of their package as the return flight departs in the evening. A small, boutique operation, where the team knows the names of the guests and are passionate about the service they provide. Guests return year after year for the unique experience of Northern Escape Heli-Skiing. “Escape the Crowds; Escape the Norm.”
